CDS 2021: Common Defence Services (CDS) is a national level recruitment exam. CDS exam is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). CDS-I and CDS-II exam will be conducted in the month of February and September 2021. Through this exam, eligible candidates can join Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy. Candidates can apply for the exam by filling the application form. CSD exam is considered as one of the tough recruitment exams, so candidate may start their preparation in advance. Also, candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria otherwise will lead to rejection.

CDS 2021 Application Form
Candidates have to fill the application form in order to apply for the exam. The details regaridng the CDS Application form are:
- CDS 2021 Application form will release in October 2020 for the february attempt.
- For, Septemper attempt, the application form will release in June 2021.
- The application form will release in online mode.
- Candidates will be able to fill the application form through the official website of UPSC.

Application Fee

- CDS Application form fee is Rs. 200/-.
- There is no application fee for female candidates as well as candidates from reserved category.
- Moreover, candidates may note that the application fee once paid would not be refunded under any circumstances.

CDS 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be eligible to appear for the CDS Exam. The details regaridng the CDS Eligibility Criteria 2021 are:
Nationality
- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
OR
- A Subject of Nepal / Bhutan.
OR
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962 with intention of settling in the country permanently.
OR
- Candidate having Indian origin migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Srilanka and East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire & Ethopia, Malawi, Zambia or Veitnam with intention of settling here permanently.
Moreover, Candidates from foreign countries have to obtain a certificate of eligibility from the concerned department of the Government of India. However, candidates from Gorkha subjects of Nepal have no need to provide a certificate of eligibility.
Age Limit and Marital Status
Indian Military Academy (IMA)
- Candidates should be unmarried.
- Only male candidates are allowed to apply.
- Candidate must be born in between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2003.
Indian Naval Academy (INA)
- Candidate should be unmarried.
- Only male candidates are allowed to apply.
- Candidate must be born in between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2003.
Air Force Academy (AFA)
- Candidate’s age must lie between 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2021. So, candidates born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2002 are eligible to apply.
Note: Candidates having age less than 25 years should be unmarried and marriage is not allowed during the training period.
Officers Training Academy (SSC Course for men)
- Candidate should be unmarried.
- Only male candidates are allowed to apply.
- Candidate must be born in between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003.
Officers Training Academy (SSC Women Non-technical Course)
- Unmarried women, issueless widows(who have not remarried) and issueless divorcees (having legal divorce documents) can apply for the CDS Exam.
- Candidate must be born in between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003.
Qualification Criteria
Indian Military Academy (IMA): Candidate must have a bachelors degree from a recognized university.
Indian Naval Academy (INA): Candidate must have a bachelor degree in Engineering.
Air Force Academy (AFA): Candidate must have a bachelors degree in Engineering or graduation degree with Physics and Mathematics in class 12.
Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in their final semester exams are also eligibile to apply but they should have their provisional passing certificate during the interview round.
CDS 2021 Exam Pattern
The details regaridng the CDS Exam Pattern 2021 are:
- Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode.
- Type of Questions: The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Medium of Exam: The paper will be in Hindi as well as English langauge except English section.
- Negative Marking: 0.33 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
