KVPY 2023 is a national level entrance test is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore to shortlist eligible candidates on the basis of Aptitude Test & Interview organized by IISc. KVPY 2023 Application Form

Candidates can check below the following details regarding KVPY 2023 Application Form:

  • IISc will release KVPV 2023 Application form in online mode.
  • The Application process can be filled in following steps – Registration, Entering details in the application form, uploading documents and making application fee payment.
  • Any changes in KVPY 2023 application form will be accepted after the last date of submission.
  • While filling the application form, candidates have to upload their recent passport size photograph with scanned signature in the prescribed format.
  • Candidates are advised to enter a valid e-mail ID & phone number to get login credentials.
  • Class 11 passed candidates have to apply under SA stream and class 12 passed candidates have to apply under SX stream. Candidates pursuing B.Sc Basic sciences (First year) can apply under SB stream.

KVPY 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check the KVPY 2023 Eligibility criteria for different streams from the below given section:

  • Nationality: Only Indian Candidates can apply for KVPY 2023 exam.

For SA Stream:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed class 10 from any recognized board with Science & Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Percentage: Only candidates with minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category candidates) can apply for this stream.
  • Appearing: Candidates who are in class 11 can also apply for the exam under SA stream.

For SX Stream:

  • Qualification: Candidates who have passed/appearing in class 12 or equivalent examination can apply for SX stream.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Interested applicants must have Science subjects (PCB / PCM) in their class 12.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have scored at least 75% marks in class 12 (65% for reserved category applicants).

For SB Stream:

  • Qualification: Candidates from the first year of Under graduation can apply.
  • Mandatory Subject: Candidates who have studied Basic Sciences in UG degree level with science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology leading to B.Sc. /B.S. /B.Stat/B.Math. /Int. MS. /Int. M.Sc. can apply under  SB stream.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have scored 60% marks (50% for reserved category candidates) in Mathematics & Science in 12th

KVPY 2023 Exam Pattern

Given below are some important points related to KVPY 2023 Exam Pattern that every candidate must be familiar with:

  • Exam Mode: Online i.e. Pen Based mode.
  • Medium: English & Hindi medium.
  • Questions Type: Multiple choice questions (MCQ).
  • Attempts: In the SA stream, candidates must have to attempt all questions. While in SB/SX stream, candidates will be provided an option to attempt any three sections in Part I and two sections in Part II of the entrance test.
  • Time Duration: 180 minutes i.e. 3 hours.
  • Maximum Marks: Total 100 marks.

KVPY 2023 Syllabus

Generally, KVPY entrance test includes question from the topics of class 10, class 12 and the UG first year syllabus as per the stream selected by candidate. IISc has not prescribed KVPY 2023 syllabus for the entrance test. The aptitude test  is mainly to test candidate’s analytical ability & understanding knowledge.

Candidates are advised to solve mock tests and previous year sample papers to know about the pattern of written examination.

KVPY 2023 Preparation Tips

KVPY 2023 Answer Key

Board will release KVPY 2023 Answer Key in online mode by fourth week of November 2023. Candidates can calculate their expected marks of the KVPY entrance exam from the answer key. Stream-wise official answer key will be made available on the official website of authority.

Candidate have to login at the official website to download KVPY 2023 Answer key. After downloading the answer key, candidates must know about the marking scheme in order to calculate their score.

KVPY 2023 Cut Off

KVPY 2023 Cut-Off marks is the minimum marks that a candidate must score in order to qualify the exam. KVPY cut off varies as per the streams and category of candidates. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will release the cut-off marks in online mode.

KVPY 2023 Result

KVPY 2023 Result is supposed to be declared in the third week of December 2023. For checking the result, candidates have to login at the official website by entering their login credentials such as application number and password.

Board will release separate merit list for each stream (SA, SB, and SX). Only qualified candidates details will be listed in the merit list.

Merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance test. Qualified candidates will be called for further selection or counselling process.

KVPY 2023 Counselling/ Selection

Qualified candidates will be called for KVPY 2023 Selection Process on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. The selection process mainly includes few interview rounds in which selected candidates have to show some documents for verification purpose. The KVPY counselling process is supposed to be conducted from the third week of January 2021 till last week of February 2021.
